Happy Birthday in Aruba

My husband and I have not been on a vacation in over a year and we are going to Aruba for the first time the first week in December with our 6yr old son and 4yr old daughter. WHile we are there my son is going to turn 7. Any suggestions on how to spend the special day?

Re: Happy Birthday in Aruba

We have been going to Aruba with our girls since they were born (now 10 & 11). One fun activity would be to go to DePalm island and snorkel. The fish are right there near the jetty so even your 4 year old could probably see some fish. If snorkeling is too tough, they can even feed huge parrot fish while standing on the jetty. Baby beach is also a great excursion though the snorkeling is a little tougher. The ostrich farm is a hoot and an easy drive out of town. Our favorite is the butterfly farm - we go every year.

We have lots of exciting things to do with kids on our website www.arubahouse.com. Just click on the green box to get to the new website.

Have a wonderful time!

Re: Happy Birthday in Aruba

the new waterpark sounds fun, we will be there with our 3 kids dec 21-29th. maybe you could start the day at linda's pancakes, do a 1/2 day at the waterpark where lunch is included and then hit the beach before going out to a special bday dinner. depending on the likes and dislikes of your son's palate, you could try blossoms for some hibachi cooking (if you tell them it's his bday, they will make a big deal about him at the table) or el gaucho is fun for steaks, and the trio of musicians that will serenade your family is always fun. anything you choose will be wonderful, you will be at the best spot on the earth. i celebrate my bday there every year too...just being there, makes it spectacular. enjoy.

Re: Happy Birthday in Aruba

We just celebrated my 8 year old son's birthday in Aruba. He chose Amazonia restaurant for his birthday dinner. It is an all-you-can-eat Brazilian style place. The waiters walk around with I think 14 different cuts of meat on these big skewers. They come to serve you when you indicate you are ready for more with your green signal. They carve the meat off the skewer and you grab it with your tongs. My kids just love this place. Some of the meats are really delicious and they also have a great salad and soup bar. The waiters make a big fuss over the kids and they do a fabulous birthday song performance with this fireworks type sparkler on whatever dessert your order. I think it is $40 per adult, half price for kids and under 6 eats free. The desserts and drinks are extra. There are coupons around town for 10% off and they also give a discount with the visit aruba card. I also agree that Blossom's would be a fun choice too.
