Nightlife @ LaCabana

Hi going to Aruba in November for the first time and just wanted to know what is there to do @ LaCabana in the evening for children and their families. Do they have theme nights and parties? Activity's for the kids? I have been to Jamaica twice and everynight there was something going on. I am really nervous that we are not doing an all-inclusive in Aruba like we do in Jamaica. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks

There is always something going on at the hotels in Jamaica because it is not safe to leave the hotel grounds. In Aruba, you will be very safe exploring the island and going to any of the fine restaurants in town.

You definetly do not need an all inclusive in Aruba. There are too many awesome restaurants to go to. LaCabana does have activities for kids and they do have special themes on certain days. Did you request any information from them? I'm not sure how old your children are but, I bet at any age they will have a great time. Enjoy!

I agree with the comments about not taking all inclusive in Aruba. It is no way like Jamaica. You can and SHOULD leave the resort and see Aruba. At night there are some things going on but there is an arcade and mini-golf place across the street from LaCabana, shows to go and see with or without your kids, or just going out for dinner. The kids camp has different activities on during the day and you can pick and choose what your kids want to do. Enjoy Aruba, its so different that Jamaica!

Re: Nightlife @ LaCabana

Thanks for the info. I am just so concerned as I am use to the AI thing. Also concerned that Aruba won't be as much fun as Jamaica. But I guess I am just crazy. It will probably be more fun as we will be able to travel around the island. Unlike Jamaica we had to stay put at the resort. We did venture out once in Negril, but I didn't like it we went to Rick's Cafe and I felt like everyone (The locals) were watching us. I think we were there for a total of 15 minutes and we left and went rightback to the resort. Is the entire island kid friendly? I have a 9 year old and a 3 year old.
Thanks again.

Re: Nightlife @ LaCabana

Hi!
I have done the AI in Negril, been to Ricks as well. I am not sure what you are more concerned about the money situation or how much fun will it be? If it's the money well, It will cost you with two adults and two kids to Aruba but also it depends where you stay. I have stayed at La Cabana and will be staying there again next week with my child. He loves it!! We were going to do the AI this time. Last time we did not. But said forget it. There are way too many great places to eat. See at La Cabana you can save some cash buy packing juice boxes, cereal, pasta,Mac'n Cheese, coffee, anything non perishable basically. There is a supermarket right there so don't worry. They also have grills to use if you want to grab some cheap burgers and dogs and grill them for the kids. It's gonna be a blast! Forget Jamaica!!! You will see. Soo much to do for the family. Right behaind La cabana is a mini golf place with a motocycle bar thats cool for the kids to see the bikes. they have bumper boats. La cabana has 2 cool water slides and Arcade. The banana boat rides are right there. take them up t the hyatt and they have a cool water slide with tons of tropical birds, a playground on the beach. The Buccaneer is a totally cool place to eat you kids will LOVE!! It's themed after a sunken ship and is surounded by a 5000 gallon aquarium that has sharks, turtles and tons of big fish. The food is good too. At Carlos and Charlies the Waiters do magic tricks at the table. also there is a Magic show at one of the Casinos at night for the whole family. Don't forget that La Cabana has theme night where they have a huge bbq and entertainment with colorful dancers and music. your kids will have fun and you will too. Enjoy

We will be at LaCabana next week also - leave 3/13 until 3/20. Should I just shop at the grocery onsite or go to Ling & sons? Also, do you know where the magic show is?

I don't see anywhere on the www.arubaonline.com site that shows anything about the magic show. Where do I look?
