Renaissance with kids

We are going to stay at the Renessaince with our 2.5 yo boy in April. Has anyone stayed there with young children? Would you share your experience: good or bad? Also, I've heard that Renaissance is not on the beach. How far from the beach is it?

Thanks!

Re: Renaissance with kids

The Ren is not on the beach..You have to take a private boat shuttle to their private island. One part of the island is mostly family and the other part is adults..Might see some topless there..just beware. It's located in town on the main street..Not bad..close to dining and shops..We stayed there last year with grandchildren ages 4 and 5 and they liked it. Only downside with kids, is you have to load them in the boat everyday if you want to go to the private island, otherwise their pools are lovely.

Re: Renaissance with kids

Lana,
We've been going to Renaissance for years. We will be taking our boys (5 & 3) for the first time in April. We are looking forward to it and know the kids will love it!

Re: Renaissance with kids

My daughter of 5 has been going since she was 2 months old. She asks to go every year. There are 2 building for the renaissance the beach towers ( where we stay has a small lagoon type beach and 2 pools. They also have a kid care fun room for crafts and such you can take them in at any age to get out of the sun for a while. But they have to be 5 to enroll in the watch program. The other building is the marina towers also nice havent stayed there but they have 1 pool and a spa. The boat ride isn't bad. they have shuttles that run every 20 min. There is plenty of shade a snack bar fitness center on the private island. If you decide to stay there i'm sure you will enjoy it. Also in the past 2 years all of the rooms have been remodeled.

Enjoy I should start my count down just purchased tickets today.

Unfortunatly I have not use it yet. My daughter was not old enough. I have met and spoke with the people who work the program and they are all very nice. you may want to check out aurbarennaissance.com it may have prices for you.

Re: Renaissance with kids

thank you Jill for the advice. We will go for a week in the middle of april with our two girls ages 5 and 8. I hope they enjoy the kids club. Do you know if you have to pay extra for the craft program to get out of the sun? Also was the sun a big problem with the kids? Thanks for your help.
