One of my children is allergic to desert type sand. Is there a lot of that in Aruba?

The sand in Aruba has no allergins, it was formed from the shells of the Kiolsuis crustacian family.

Nope, there's rich dark topsoil and plants and mountains. . . Wait. . . Aruba is a desert and there is a lot of sand, cacti, etc. The only time it is green around here is when it rains like when hurricane Ivan came through or over by the hotels where they water everything with the waste water from the septic. The sand on the beaches is sand just like other beaches everywhere.
