The Submarine Atlantis

Has anyone gone on this underwater tour? We heard the submarine goes down to 150'!!! I sense it would be the best way to show my 2 sons (3 & 6 years old) the underwater beauty of Aruba. Any feedback is greatly appreciated. We are going for the first time in August. Thanks!!!

Re: The Submarine Atlantis

Hello.
I actually did the submarine....To tell you the truth its ok.. Nothing I would advertise about.... I used my camcorder, which didn't show very well afterword.
Its very dark and gloomy obviously. You do see fish, and also i believe you see a boat that has been shipwrecked down there....
The only thing I didn't like.... It was a windy day there...(that will not surprise you) but the boat you take out to the sub - you have to switch to WAY OUT THERE IN THE WATER.. So take notice to the weather conditions. A couple people that went on the tour that day with us got sea sick, so if you have tendies to get motion sickness
Don't do it... Enjoy the trip.....
The beaches are wonderful.

Re: The Submarine Atlantis

I would not like to be on the same trip - I think the little ones would grow tired of it.
The entire trip (the ride out to the sub and back) is kind of long for three year olds.

Re: The Submarine Atlantis

Hi - We just returned from our vacation in Aruba, and instead of taking the Submarine with our 4 year old and 9 year old - we took the semi-submarine, the Seaworld Explorer. It is basically a boat, in which you can go in the bottom portion which puts you 5 ft. underwater surrounded by windows. We saw SO much: scuba divers, tons of fish, The Antilla wreck, coral reefs. It was fun. It wasn't too long, so our 4 year old didn't lose interest. The only problem was she did start to feel a bit woozy on the way back. If your kids get motion sickness at all, you may want to consider dramamine for this trip. Last year, my husband took my older daughter who was 8 at the time on the submarine. They loved it, but since I wasn't there - I can't tell you too much about it. Have fun!
