You will receive a wrist band which identifies you as under 18 and will not be served alcohol. On your 18th birthday, go to the front desk and have the band changed to an adult band. You will then receive alcohol all you want. If you look 18 or over and the bartender is busy, he/she MAY serve you before you are actually 18. It happens. As for renting a car, most vendors require you to be 25 and a few will rent if you are 23 yrs. old. So forget about getting a car. Insurance regulations are involved. At 18, you can also go in the casinos. Bring I.D. just in case a governemt offical at the door ask to see it. No I.D., no admittance.

at the TAMARIJN kids under age 18 eat and stay for free.
on your 18th birthday, if you go to the front desk and announce that you are now 18........................you will be charged (or your folks will be charged) the daily fee as an adult.

you cannot be listed on the contract for the rental car as you are too young.
if you are not listed on the contract you cannot drive the vehicle.
it is pretty cut and dry.
your dad would be breaking the contract and the aruban law if he allowed you to drive.

re: the drinking.
if you are not 18 you cannot legally drink alcoholic beverages in aruba.
when you turn 18 and you ask for the age 18 and older wristband, you or your dad will have to pay for your new adult upgrade.

aruba is not jamaica-cozumel-cancun. (not that there's anything wrong with jamaica-cozumel or cancun)

if you get away with it, good for you i suppose.
(you'd be breaking the law)

if you don't get away with it, .......well, it is what it is!
