i have been taking my 12 year old daughter to aruba for the past 5 years. she loves it. we actually never meet up with any other people. just enjoy what we have at the time. aruba is great for leaving everything at home and enjoying your time.
we were on the beach in the day (water activities) and dinner at night. we would go to see a show or just simply play cards by the pool or on the beach. it is so beautiful and gives you the quiet time a mom/daughter need.
