Is there bringing dry foods (like cereal, fav cookies) from US to Aruba? My wife is wondering also about micro wavable stuff that's dry like pop corn for the kids, etc.

Can any one tell us if it's OK TO BRING SOME DRY FOODS FROM THE US?

Yes it is ok to bring these things but why bother. Go to one of the major supermarkets and pick up whatever you want or need. We used to drag all kinds of things with us, but since these supermarkets opened and carry every American product on earth, we stopped bringing things with us and just buy what we want. Most of the major resorts have mini-marts, but they are very expensive, so make that trip to the supermarket and make your luggage lighter.

Hi Vinny
I agree with Tina, we just got back from 10 days there ... I packed a huge box of cheerios for the kids...kinda dumb could have just bought it there...the food there is not as expensive as I remembered. Just stop at a grocery store and stock up on the stuff you need. have a great time.

I agree with the above comments. I went to the grocery store and loaded up on cereal, snacks and drinks. Some cereals are sold under their English name and stacked right next to boxes of the same cereal in their Spanish names. My kid got a kick out of eating the Spanish version of Frosted Flakes!

We got stopped by USDA on the way back in. There was no problem bring food to Aruba. It seems that when bringing food to US (ie. for small children with fussy appetites), the food must be in a sealed container, with USDA markings or identification. The USDA inspector said that if it is in a plain container, or in a container already opened, it loses it's identity even if the packaging bears the USDA seal.
