    Thoughts on pony rides

We saw the ponies in front of the mall the other day, I thought the kids would be tempted but my 7yo looked at us and said "they look so tired". Anyone know about the ponies? I am going to ask the people at the Donkey Santuary when we go (and Phillips if we get there too). I cannot imagine the people caring for animals on the island being happy about it but I could be wrong. Thoughts?

they give pony rides at one of the malls in the hi rise?

    here are my thoughts:

if you can see their ribs
if their hooves are cracked and uneven
if they have any visible sores
if they are exhibiting any lameness

    ...then do not go.

my experience is only horseback riding at a few of the ranches on aruba.
all experiences have been positive and the horses in fine shape.
most of the horses in aruba are barefoot (unshod)

I just was creeped out and felt bad for those ponies every time we see them. They have been there for a while. They look not very kept imop
