Travel Documents-Toddlers

Does a toddler need a passport or just a birth certificate in order to gain entrance into Aruba? My son is 16 months old. Thanks for any information you might be able to share.

Re: Travel Documents-Toddlers

Birth Certificate NEEDS TO HAVE THE OFFICIAL RAISED SEAL. Just a photocopy will not get it done.

Thanks. Have you been to Aruba? I might have more questions to ask.

Re: Travel Documents-Toddlers

We also just got back and brought our 19 month old daughter. Just a birth certificate is fine. Make sure it is an orginal w/the raised seal stamped from the town clerk. I am sure that the birth cert you received from the town clerk when you had your child is fine. That is the one we used. Also, if both you and your wife are not travelling together, whomever is flying w/the child will need a notorized letter from the other parent giving the consent to travel w/the child alone.

If you both do not have passports, make SURE your birth cert. have the raised seal stamped from the town clerk!!! I guess some regulations changed some 7 months ago and my husband almost did not get on the plane. He had his original birth cert. w/ the seal from the hospital that he used the previous 2 times to Arbua and they would not accept it! Thankfully his mom found something and got it to the airport in just enough time.

If you have the time, I would just get passports, if you don't already have them.

Have fun! Your 16 month will have a BLAST!

Re: Travel Documents-Toddlers

Hey Al,

My son is 16 months old, not 16 years old. I don't need a current photo of him. All I wanted to know was what was meant by the long form (for the birth certifiacte). If you don't have anything intelligent to say, do not post anything to this board and get a life. Loser!!
