traveling with 10 month old

We'll be arriving with our 10 month old on Oct. 9th. Any recommendations for sites that would entertain my little guy? Also, is there a place where you can rent car seats for use in taxi's rather than renting a car? One last question, is it true that i will not be able to bring my infant in the casino with us?

You would not want to bring the little one into the casino even if you could with all of the noise and smoke. The rule is 18 so you will not be allowed to bring him with you. Bring your own car seat with you if it will make it easier to use the cabs. We always get a car and the car seat at the same time.

Re: traveling with 10 month old

We were in Aruba in July and they had no liquid formula, only powder, so If your baby is like mine and will only drink the liquid, make sure you bring enough.
Remember to bring sun screen, a hat and a floating toy that your baby will be able to sit in in the water.

Have fun.

Marianne - Did you bring your own car seat or did you rent it with the cat? Which company did you use? The few I e-mailed would not guarantee me a car seat.

Re: traveling with 10 month old

We are bringing our 7 month old next week, and we also had the car seat dilemma. We are not renting a car, but need one for the plane and taxis. We finally decicided to buy a cheaper car seat to travel with. Target has the Cosco Regal Ride for $39. I have read the reviews and it sounds just as safe as my Britax Roundabout. Another option is the Cosco Tote-N-Go carseat. It can pack flat in your suitcase and is for children 25-40 pounds. Our son is only 20 pounds so not a good option for us. You can get that car seat for $29.99 online. I can't remember which website...check shopping.com or just do a search for the Tote n go.
We have friends who recently rented a car seat with their rental car and the seat smelled of smoke. Hope this helps.

Thanks Shawn, I looked into the travel car seat and love it. Great alternative to the big, bulky, heavy car seat.

Lisa you are not serious about bringing your child in a casino are you? I sure hope not, no children are allowed in the casino you must be 18 years old, get a babysitter for your child for the evening,I am sure the resor you are staying in has a babysitting service.

Re: traveling with 10 month old

We are going with our children 3 and 1 year. We are going with my parents, great for babysitting! I have never felt comfortable leaving my kids with the sitting services in the past. Whatever you decise, I think you will have a great time, casino or not! ENJOY!

Re: traveling with 10 month old

Thank you for your reply Peggy. It was simply a question regarding the casinos. I don't intend on putting my son in a stuffy, smokey, or bad environment. We happen to have non smoking areas in casino's back home which also happen to have restaurants, entertainment, etc. and I've seen children in them (never brought mine there). I was just inquiring... wasn't sure if there were areas inside the casino's that accomodated parents who travel with children.
