We are leaving tomarrow. I live in North Dakota and am having a very difficult time finding "summer" clothes for my son. Is there huts available so if I just have him in a tee-shirt onesie I can find shade? We are staying at the Wyndham. Any advise for that resort.
You will be able to find alot of short/tshirt sets and onesies on the island if you need them. You MUST get "waterproof" sunscreen and use it all day long as babies skin is ultrasensitive to the sun. Our son was the same age for his first trip to the island - a little hat or baseball cap is also a good idea. The best thing is to keep the baby under a hut whether it be at the pool or beach.
They do not have liquid formula on the island, only powder. We found this out the hard way. The hospital was kind enough to get us some liquid formula, but if that is all your baby drinks, make sure to bring enough.
We were in Aruba last year and my nephew was 5 months old and my daughter was 8 months old. Even baby sunscreen does say to apply on children that are 6 mo and older. Confirm with your doctor. We kept the kids by the pool (in the shade) in the morning and late afternnon. During the heat of the day we put them inside to take naps and eat lunch. It worked out well for us. You will have no problem. You are going to a tourist destination so there will be no problem finding clothes for your baby, esp anything that says Aruba!!
