Traveling with a 5 month old

Hi,

I am taking my 5 month old daughter to the Hyatt at the end of this month. Does anyone know if there are stores close to the Hyatt so I can purchase Enfamil formula?

Do you think it makes sense to ship formula, diapers, wipes, etc... before i arrive?

Any helpful hints traveling with a baby would be much appreciated!!! Thanks

DIAPERS AND ALL THE OTHER STUFF YOU CAN GET NEXT DOOR AT THE PLAYA LINDA. THE FORMULA YOU CAN GET AT THE SUPERMARKETS IN TOWN THE HAVE A WHOLE BABY SEXTION WITH FORMULA AND JARRED FOODS AND ANYTHING ELSE YOU WILL NEED. I JUST STAYED AT THE HYATT IN MAY WITH MY 15 MONTH OLD. THEY HAD EVERYTHING I NEEDED.

I would bring powdered formula as it is easy to travel withm and you end up with a little extra room at the end of your trip for souvenirs/ Also, as far as diapers, in many countries all you can get are Huggies, so if that is your brand then that is good. You can almost always get wipes.

Deborah:
We have taken both our children to Aruba since their infant stages. We always stay at the Hyatt and our children love the facility. Our boy CJ enjoyed his second trip this past February. As of our last trip, the only formula we could locate on the island is in powder form.

My wife always packs sufficient formula and one(1) "regular" diaper package and one (1) "swimming" diaper package. They are both readily available on the island.

Definitely purchase your childs sunblock in the states and apply liberally.

La Playa Linda, next door to the Hyatt, has a small grocery/bodega open late. They carry almost everything you may need from meds to snacks.

Enjoy, you will love the Hyatt and their staff.

Deborah:

I went to disney with my 5 month old several years back but have also been to Aruba several times. I shipped the formula before I went and had it waiting at the hotel when I got there. Sun block is going to be an issue as well. My physician and pharmacist informed me under the age of 6 months can't use sunblock. Keep very cool cover ups to cover up with, hats, etc. I have stayed at Hyatt-they're great about everything. There is a store close by-next hotel over-Playa Linda-small store reasonable prices where you can buy necessities but I'd bring enough diapers/wipes where they are much cheaper from home. Bring your own folding cooler from home, fill it with ice from hotel to keep formula cool, etc. If you bring a stroller, make sure it has an umbrella attached. Anything else, I'll try to help. Hyatt is beautiful, great restaurants, great people.

Re: Traveling with a 5 month old

My son is now 22 months & we're returning in November. I brought him when he was 5 months and 14 months and the one other suggestion I can make is to bring along a bouncy seat. That worked great for us. Ours was simple to take apart, pack & put together when we were there. It was also very light weight. It gave him the option of sitting somewhere else than in his stroller.
Bring enough diapers to get by and you can buy the rest there.
Have fun!

Unknown , people will still continue going to Aruba, just as I will, Im sure most people feel the same way, it is very unfortunate what has happened to Natalie,I feel very sorry for her parents, but I think the tourism is still up in Aruba,it has not stopped people from going.oh and by the way why dont you use your name instead of Unknown.
