Traveling with infant under 1 year old?

Has anyone traveled with a baby before to Aruba? What should we bring? How long should he/she be in the sun for? Any suggestions or comments would be really appreciated!

Yikes - no sun for that baby at all. A hat and shirt in the shade with alot of waterproof sunscreen is what you need. You will find everything you need in the supermarkets - just bring enough for traveling with you. There are American brands of diapers and American brands of baby food.

Yes we did - we took our son when he was four months old and he is now eleven and hasn't missed his yearly trip to the island. Just watch the sun and keep the baby in the shade.

Re: Traveling with infant under 1 year old?

We traveled last year with our 1 1/2 year old daughter, when she required medical attention for a bad cough and cold. We found a great doctor and pharmacy. The location is in between the hospital and the Alhambra casino. We were able to see the doctor right away and have our prescription filled. The doctor visit was only $30 and the prescriptions were only $3o without insurance. We are returning Saturday 9/18 and have a great piece of mind knowing help is available if we need it. Hopefully, we will have a less eventful vacation. Enjoy this great island, we have been going for 8 years!

We are traveling with an 8 month old in Oct. and were wondering if there is good safe childcare that might be available. Any suggestions?

The healthcare system on the island is excellent. There are specialists for any and every possible problem. We have been going to the island for over twenty years and have had to visit the hospital a few times and have always come away pleased with the care given to us as well as our children.

Hey Suzanne,,how long would you stay on the beach for with him? My son will be 5 when we go in December. Did you need a car seat in the taxis? Can you give me alittle more info on how to approach this please. TY

You should always have your carseat. We have been taking our kids to islands since they were really small. Lots of sunscreen and babyfloat for pool and ocean. Don't forget stroller.
