where to stay

My family is looking at a late July/early august visit and we're looking into where to stay. We will be down there between 9 and 16 nights (depending on our air travel which we are booking with skymiles so it depends on which flights we can get). Any suggestions on a great place to stay. Looking into the Radisson, but for 16 nights this might be a bit pricey even for their most economical room. We've never been to the island and have a 5 year old girl and an 8 year old boy. We are looking to splurge, but still want to be wise about where we spend it...

Re: where to stay

Go to the Tamarijn all inclusive. Kids under 18 stay and eat for free. You can also upgrade for a nominal fee to use the Divi Aruba resort next door also. This will leave you plenty of money to splurge on tours and a few dinners offsite too. See www.megaresorts.com for info and www.geocities.com/THEFEEL2002 for pix.

I agree w/ Jim, stay at the Tamarijn. We stayed there the last 3 years and we love everything about it!

Re: where to stay

LaCabana is not bad with kids. You can stock up on groceries and eat in your room some of the days. The Tamarjin might be good if only there for the nine days. Food (all-inclusive)may get a bit redundant.

Re: where to stay

I have a 5 and 7 year old and we stayed at the all-inclusive program at the Wyndham in April. The food was great, they have a great pool and their beach was not as crowded as some of the other hotels.
