age and dress

I'm just curious, i'm taking my first trip to aruba with a friend and i am 23 and she is 20, are there a lot of younger people in aruba or is it mostly an older crowd...no offense to any age group Also, what kind of clothing should i bring. I watched a really cheesy travel video from the mid-80's and it said that aside from the beaches arubas dress was more on the formal side. What do you think?

thanks
matt

RE: age and dress

Matt,
There will be Loads of stuff for you to do, esp. at your age, partying, sports, etc. Check out the Tatoo party boat. They also have a bus that will take you bar hopping, then return you to your hotel. My husband did the "snuba" which he liked alot more than scuba. He did snorkeling everyday and he wore a T-shirt the first few mornings to help prevent sunburn, becareful of that. Take sunscreen, and sun burn soother with you, alot cheaper.
Dress is very casual. I never take anything very dressy. Have a great time.

The dress code for the island is "casual".

RE: age and dress

Dress very casual, I was there in April, ate out every night and only one night did I wear long pants. Then only because the women wanted to get dressed up. My wife wore shorts all the time and she is probably older than your parents. Relax, be casual and enjoy a great place.

Polo Shirts & Casual Shorts for dinner !

Polo Shirts and Casual Shorts for dinner. In the morning its bathing attire, T-shirt, baseball cap, swim shoes, .... and head to beach or breakfast. Baseball cap for protection from the sun and swim shoes to wear around the resort, sitting a beach bar, and going to lunch. Don't need them for the beach or ocean but found them best to wear around the resort. Need something on the feet as the bricks/cement around the pools can get hot in that sun. For casinos and shopping its like T-shirts and casual slacks.
