All Inclusives

We want to go back to Aruba for our first wedding anniversary. Which hotel has the most restaurants and is all-inclusive? We stayed at the Aruba Grand which only had one restaurant and the other one was closed for renovations.

Re: All Inclusives

WE are going for the first time..staying at the Tam all-inclusive with the upgrade to use the facilities at the Divi..have read many favorable reports on both on this board.
We are going for a full week..leaving the day after Thanksgiving...airfare from NJ,non stop on Continental the all inclusive hotel, the insurance (we always get that cause you never know what life will suprise you with)and paid just around $2,600.

Re: All Inclusives

I'll be at the TAm/divi in 3 days!!

You get lots of restaurant and bar choices when you stay there because you can use both resorts.. there is something like 5 restarants, 3 bars, and 2 snack bars!

I'll let you know when I get home!

Re: All Inclusives

You want to stay at the Divi Aruba Beach Mega all inclusive which lets you use the Tamarijn resort next door also. This gives you use of 2 resorts, 3 pools, 2 buffets, 3 a la cartes, 6 beach bars (2 serve pizza and sandwiches until 1 AM) I think there is a new bar in the new sport hut now too. Not sure. Both resorts are directly on the beach. Free golf cart ride to and from the Divi/Tam/Alhambra casino. Free entertainment every night for guests at both resorts such as carnival dance show, latin dance show, synchronized swim show, mystic magic show, limbo dance/contest show, DJ's and dancing. Audience participation in shows too. During the day free use of bikes, bike tour (Tuesdays), snorkel equipment, sunfish, kayaks, windsurfers, climbing wall, fitness center, floats, beach towels service, tennis. Game room but video games cost you. Self serve soft drinks, ice cream and coffee machines at both resorts near bars. Stores, spa on site, car rental, guest services booths in lobbies and internet stations too. Rooms have iron, iron board, AC, satellite color TV, hair dryers, some have ceiling fans and jacuzzi bathtubs also. Bath has bar soap, and also soap/shampoo/hand lotion dispensers and room safes but safes are $2.00 a day. room phones are cheap for local calls but don't use them for long distance!!!! Rooms cleaned daily. See their website at www.megaresorts.com and also see pix and movies of the 2 resorts at my website www.geocities.com/THEFEEL2002 The movies sites are listed at top in scrolling marquee.

Re: All Inclusives

Kate, Where did you get that deal from? I assume thats $2600 for both of you. I've stayed at the TAM before but would not do it again unless I got an excellent price..and $2600 is an excellent price. Thanks

Re: All Inclusives

I looked at Apple Vacations, then booked through my travel agent. yes that is for both of us.Checking with hubby though he said it was more like 2800.00, but that is also including the insurance and from some of the pricing I looked at the price was pretty good.
Alot of people think that because Liberty Travel is this huge chain the prices are better...not always.
I do not need a luxury room as I do not go on vacation to sit in the room. I sleep & shower there. As long as it's clean, the food eatable I'm fine with it.
You should see some of the places I stayed at in Costa Rica six years ago...before the travel industry really started pushing the place....some of the bathrooms yikes!!
I originally wanted to go to Margarita Island, but you can only get there through Caracas, not the place to be at the current time.

Re: All Inclusives

I visisted the allegro and didnt like it.. I felt like I was in a city.. I'd rather be in a low-rise, all inclusive when I'm on a tropical vacation - like Aruba. NO need to carry around money with you... feel like your more part of the tropics instead of in a big city high rise hotel, smaller crowd at the beach,.. and things like that.

I'm going from Boston to the Tam -with the delux upgrade to use Divi Divi too.. for $1375 each for me and my BF. US Air package deal. ($2750 total for those that dont want to do any math!)

Re: All Inclusives

Janis,
I've seen your posts and as a first time visitor myself (going in November)I look forward to your trip report when you return. I'm also staying at the Tam with the use of the Divi!!
That "Jim of Boston" seems to know quite a bit about the Tam and Aruba...sounds like he's been there many times.
