Aruba : La Cabana

Help! Never been to Aruba..Staying at the La Cabana..Is it a 5 star or 3 star..Interval shows 5 and expedia shows 3..???? Would like to play golf, snorkel, dance, lay on beach. Any information would be helpful as to "must do or see" while we are there....Thanks

go to www.depalmonline.com and www.wixtours.com fopr land/sea tours. Go to baby beach for snorkeling or up to arashi beach too. Carlos and Charlies is a must, moomba's beach bar, mambo jambo's, black hog saloon, choose a name for some fun clubbing or take the kukuu kunukoo dinner/bar hopping bus tour.

Re: Aruba : La Cabana

Hi Danny,

It depends on if your staying at the Villas (Back) or the Beach & Racket Club "BRC" (front). Two resorts that operates as one. The BRC is totally sold out and the builder for the Villas has filed bankrupcy, which means they haven't done a whole lot to update most of the units. The resort has a lot of amentities and 90% of the units in the BRC have redone in the last 2 years.

The rooms in the BRC are smaller then the Villas and depending on you checkin depends on your view. II rates it a 5 start because of all the amenities, however all in all I'd say its a solid 4-Star.

Check out there web site www.lacabana.com

Things to do & see in Aruba:
1) Snorkling & Scuba Diving - Go with Pelicana Adventures. I go with them diving, very well organized.
2) Chappel Alta Vista
3) Natural Bridge
4) Natural Pool (Need 4-Wheel Drive)
5) Baby Beach
6) Sunset Dinner at the Light House
7) Dinner at El Gouchos.
8) Golf at the Divi or TereDelSol

Order a Aruba Plus Card for some savings, well worth the $10. You'll get this back in the saving from renting a car alone.

I know you'll have a great time. We just got back last night and had a great two weeks there. Can't wait to go back next year!!!

Re: Aruba : La Cabana

I will be at La Cabana for the third time in one year. It is a not a plush five star resort, but it is neat & clean. A definate 3.5 to 4. The pools are very nice. The staff is warm and friendly. Relax!!! The beach is there, the sun is there and soon you will be there. The first drink you must have is a Bon Bini. Sit back, enjoy the happy hour band at pool side and enjoy your vacation.

I agree with Nina - I have stayed there and it is great but I would rate it a 3 which is not a bad number but not a 5.
