The Aruban Hotel (Formerly LaCabana)
Does anyone have any info on this hotel? I found some really good deals to it, but hear it's under construction.
Any info is appreciated. |

They are currently undergoing extensive renovation to the rooms. I just booked my son and his friends there for the end of May, AWESOME DEAL!!! 7 nights 587pp with non stop air and transfers!!!
The travel agent did tell me the reports they are getting is that the rooms are dated but clean, who spends that much time in the room anyway??

I am an owner at The Aruban Resort & Casino (formerly La Cabana Villas) and I'm am here now for 3 weeks. Yes the rooms are dated but more importantly they units are clean. Currently some rooms are under construction in the building nearest Key Largo Casino. No need to worry; it's a nice resort.

Hi, we currently are teaching Salsa at the Aruban every sunday and I can also tell you that it's a great resort. The people at the bar and other staff are friendly. You probably won't get bothered or disturbed from the constructions. It's a big resort. You could request a room that's far away from the construction zone. Either way you will like the Aruban.

I was considering this place for one night before we check into our timeshare, but according to the reviews on tripadvisor, it sounds like it's pretty bad . I think they are in the process of renovating but there are no guarantees of a new room.
Does anyone have any suggestions for clean, comfortable rooms for one night? It seems like many places require 3 or more nights. |

We stayed in the Aruban one night (March 29th) and our room was really nice (one bedroom). Perhaps it had already been remodeled but it was large and had a nice little courtyard out front by the "kid" pool - which we loved. My boyfriend and I enjoyed going down the slide and sitting at the pool bar. The staff was very friendly as well. The only "construction" we really noticed was they were fixing some paths outside of some of the rooms facing the pools. Perhaps there was more but we didn't really notice it. The gym, however, was not yet open. Hope this helps!

I appreciate all of the comments. I am mainly looking for CLEAN rooms. Of course I don't want to hear jackhammering all day & night, but clean and neat are most important.
Is this a good place for children too? |

The worst aspect I can think of is that it is quite a walk to get to the beach. http://www.wikimapia.org/#lat=12.551191&lon=-70.052873&z=17&l=0&m=a&v=2
If you are going to Aruba to sit by the pool it should fine.
