Yes, it is open. Both pools are open also. One of the building is not open (building c) but the others are. Hopefully, within the next week or two, the transfer to Tropicana Entertainment will be complete.

Christmas & New Year's at the Amsterdam Manor
As far as the casino goes, There are plans to open Key Largo as a temp casino and last I heard they wanted to start construction on the permanent one. They were having problems with the air conditioning at the old key largo. Also I don't think they can get a casino license without the hotel. The Icahn group is transfering ownership of the resort to Tropicana Entertainment. Icahn owns 47% of Tropicana entertainment. Until that financial deal is completed, the resort is being financed by maintenance fees and current rentals. It should be complete in the next two weeks, hopefully. I know they want to get Key Largo up and running as soon as possible. I have my tickets and reconfirmed my reservations for 6 wks in Feb & March. They have great plans for the resort.
As of 6:30 P.M. August 31, 2010 the Tropicana Entertainment has officially signed the agreement and now is the new owner of the "Aruban".
Thanks Andrea!!! That is what I have been waiting to hear!!!

i have no clue.
i do know that the key largo casino is still CLOSED.
the old royal cabana casino is still a pile of rubble.
the resort has not been renovated.
the owners are wondering what will be done, when it will be done and how much it is going to cost?
I have reservations at the Aruban for Friday 6/3 on. It was highly recommended by Interval International. Any new info.... I am a tad nervous after reading these messages.
