My wife and just cam back from Aruba. We stayed at the Wyndham and had one of the best times. The staff was excellent, from the doormen to the waiters and the concierge.
We were initially in room 1834, with two beds. The view of the ocean was great, and below to the right was the pool area, also nice. But below to the left was the car park and the tennis court - ugh! At night, however, we had an excellent view of island's lights.
We requested a move, and the front desk reponded immediately - we moved to 1520 ... not much of a difference in the view, but we got a king-size bed.

View or no view, the room was awesome. We learnt not to look at the car park, and the last evening, we had a 'Romantic Moon-lit Dinner) on the balcony of the room. It will be a great memory - the night-time view was really romantic.
From what I saw, I agree with others on this board that say the higher floors (15 and higher) are better, and the lower even numbered rooms (xx00, xx02, etc) are the way to go.
Christina at the concierge helped me get flowers for my wife, and I cannot say enough about her.
The only thing I would do different is eat out more - the breakfast buffets are expensive at $17+ per person, and grew old quickly. For a dollar, I could have rode the bus into down town, and had a great breakfast for much less.
So, if I have the money, it is Wyndham@Aruba in 2003 ...
