backed out of sale

Has anyone else had second thoughts on purchasing at the Marriott Surf Club. I have heard from others that not only is the Marriott building the surf club, but the Ritz Carlton is building near the Lighthouse
Last year when we were down in Aruba we had heard that this could happen. We have changed our minds and backed out of a sale for 2 units at the surf club. Just wondering how others feel about purchasing there, or what thoughts are on what we decided on..thanks

You are the ONLY ones who have to feel comfortable about the purchase, if it didn't feel right for you, you did the best thing. Better that than to have that nagging feeling that you made a mistake.

Could always rent a condo.

Why not rent one for a couple of years. Might want to look at some others also.
Costa Linda and Casa del Mar are down on Eagle Beach and will cost less and owned by their members. With the price of airfare being high to Aruba don't think the prices will be any higher in a year or so.

Re: backed out of sale

Pat,
I was wondering why exactly did you back out of the Surf Club. Is it because you rather be at the Ritz or some other reason. Please note that the price you got for the Surf Club is the lowest price anyone will ever see again. Since August they have raised the prices from a minimum of $1,000 up to an increase of $5,000 for some units.
The Marriott is safe and beautiful. You might want to re-consider.

Re: backed out of sale

Marriott can raise the prices every day, if they wish. There will always be a resale market available to buy units at fairly consistent prices.
