My husband and i will arrive on 24th December for 2 weeks - we're looking for good quality accommodation at lower cost end of the market. Can anyone recommend anywhere thats clean with air con, kitchen etc. & walking distance to bars & restuarants etc....

My wife and I have been to Aruba many times and we have stayed at many of the resorts and hotels - this is by far the nicest place we've stayed at a reasonable price.

I found The Coconut Inn at Noord 31. It's approx $55 per day + the 17½ % tax. Dont know if that would suit you if you're on a low budget like I am at this time. Their site is www.coconutinn.com . I've never stayed there before, so I cannot give you info from experience, but I'm told it's by the highrises.Phone 011+(297)865433

Margaret, Way at the top of this page click on Index then look for Low Rise and also Apartments.
Check them out and make your decision soon because you're going at the start of high season, the island starts getting very busy mid December.
Most of the places in the price range of Coconut Inn are not within easy walking distance to the beaches, a lot of restaurants or bars, that's why the prices are in the budget range. Not saying you can't walk if your a big walker, but definitely not a short walk, plus it's hot and there aren't sidewalks. But most are near bus stops and the bus is cheap and easy.
