Getting ready to book my June (or August) 08 trip to Aruba and I am stuck...I usually stay at the LaCabana Villas (now the Aruban something Casino) however after visiting this past June and learning of the new "rules" and the multimillion dollar renovation project to begin soon, I think it is best if I try some place new.

I have stay at the Holiday Inn and don't like Palm Beach...too busy, sand in the water feels gross and not fond of the gasoline high you get after laying on the beach for a few hours.

So, I need your help...I want to stay on Eagle Beach but I am not sure where. My choices are La Quinta, Costa Linda, Manchebo or Bucuti.

If anyone has stayed at any of the mentioned places, please let me know what you thought of them. It will be me and my boyfriend (and maybe other family, but no children). If there is another place I should try, please add it. I do not need all inclusive as there are too many great places to eat in Aruba and I am not a big drinker.

No question about it, go to Costa Linda. If you're a beach person than its for you. I own weeks at Divi Phoenix, Occidental, Marriott and Costa Linda. CL is the best on the island. If you want a hotel, go with Buctti in the Tiara suites.

You have chosen places with a wide range of prices. Is price an issue?

We have stayed at the Manchebo and love it, but surely the Costa Linda is more posh - and you would have a kitchen, would you not? I would pick the Manchebo over the Bucuti's regular rooms but the Tara Suites are really tops.

Though we've not been to the Costa Linda I think I'd choose it in a heartbeat.


(All those resorts are on Manchebo beach, actually. Not that it matters. LaQuinta is not actually ON the beach.)

Aruba Trip Reports

It depends on what you are looking for. We stayed at Bucuti...and we loved it! Aunti Mame is correct that you have selected a wide range of prices. Bucuti is small, but lovely, and quite expensive. We were there in the midst of renovations they were making on the regular rooms, we saw the remodeled rooms and they are beautiful. Regular rooms are not as expensive as Tara Suites. Manchebo is very nice, too, and less expensive than Bucuti. Costa Linda is much bigger than either Bucuti or Manchebo. However all three are right next to each other on the same beautiful beach. In my opinion, you can't go wrong with any of them. It's just a matter of preference. Enjoy your visit wherever you stay!
