RE: Caribbean Palm Village

This resort is not located near the beach so you should really rent a car to make it easier to get around. A taxi is a good idea also but will end up costing you more than a car at the end of two weeks. Check out various car rental companies and if you make a reservation on line you can pick the car up right at the airport. There are three supermarkets where you can go to get anything you need to keep in the unit. Their prices are in local money, but the cashier will convert the total of your purchases into dollars. They have a fresh bakery and cold cut department and you will find anything you need. We will be on the island at the same time. Have a wonderful trip.

Just curious. In England do you do the opposite of how we drive in the US? I mean is our driving lane (right side of the road) and our passing lane (left side) opposite from yours? Asking because the lanes used on Aruba are the same as the US so if you rent a car be very careful because driving on Aruba can be nerve wracking enough without having to get used to using different lanes than you're accustomed to.

Good, glad to hear you've had some experience to prepare you! Have driven by CPV several times so can tell you it's about a mile or a tad more inland. You will have beach privledges at one of the resorts right on the beach, either Holiday Inn or Manchebo, forget which. Don't know if they still do but at one time they provided transportation to and from whichever resort it was. Go to www.visitaruba.com
and click on the link to the trip reports, think you'll find some there from folks who've stayed at CPV. Enjoy your visit.

CPV is inland, at least one mile from the beach and they provide privileges at the Holiday Inn for you. The prices in the supermarkets for all items are a little higher than we pay in the states because everything has to be shipped in, but it will still cost you less than eating out three meals a day. Have a wonderful trip.

I own @CPV. It is a very quiet and nice resort. They did a pool renovation last year.To get to the beach Mon-Fri, they have a shuttle to the Holiday Inn where you get priveleges with the chairs. There is a car rental on the resort site, but they require about 24 hr. notice. The rooms are fully equipped. I would stop by the big supermarket and liquor store, the ones by the resort are not too hot. You are kiddie corner from the police station and the church and cemetery-both good tourist attactions!. Have fun.E-mail if more questions
