Casa Del Mar beach eroding?

I have read that Casa del Mar beach is small & is eroding?? Anyone been there recently?
How is their beach? Also, any comments on the resort itself? Thanks.

Please e-mail us at the personal e-mail address. We check that more often than this bulliten board. I need to make reservations ASAP!

Re: Casa Del Mar beach eroding?

We own several weeks at this resort and because the beach is at an angle there are times when the beach is very small and others when the beach is very wide. We were on island in February and the beach came and went several times over the two weeks we spent the resort. Even when the beach is small, there is still plenty of room for people to sit out there - it is not like the beach is gone. We love this resort and you should check out their website at: casadelmar-aruba.com and see for yourself what it offers. Also, when the beach erodes, we are not the only resort that has this problem. It all depends on Mother Nature.

It's possible. There's a current that sweeps past Aruba's South Coast. It could lead to erosion.

Re: Casa Del Mar beach eroding?

CasaDelMar beach for the most part is small most of the times if not all the time. It has eroded over the last 5 years to be much smaller than it used to be. It does not accommodate CDM guests adequately during high season, Jan, Feb. March. Thats why way too many CDM guests camp down at the ArubaBeach Clubs beach. Although it is a joint resort, it used to be CDM had a usable beach, not any more in any month. Many huge rocks in front of CDM beach makes it very unusable and dangerous. Thats the true evaluation!

Re: Casa Del Mar beach eroding?

I can confirm Howard's account. We walked the property last June and this past Feb. Although a very nice property, on both visits, a beach did not exist. The wave action, quick depth of the water and the large rocks made usage of their immediate waterfront too dangerous. Moving either way dwn the shore to other resorts vastly improved the beaach frontage. Apparently the erosion problems started when a pier structure was removed from the water adjacent to the CDM property.

Re: Casa Del Mar beach eroding?

Just got back after staying at the costa linda. took a walk down to the cdm and the beach is almost non existing. I stayed at the cdm last april and the beach was fine. But as other people have said if you want to go into the ocean all you have to do is walk up the beach a short distance and its fine. The resort itself is excellent.
