Censorship at its WORST

The Wyndham Aruba removed their "trip reports" section after being besieged with an onslaught of NEGATIVE trip reports - including my own. They were censoring the board continuously removing ANYTHING that was negative and or constructive.

If that does not explain this hotel’s motives I do not know what does! All I can say is it does NOT surprise me!

Please give careful consideration before booking at this resort!

Web site is owned by the hotel. They can do what they want with it, How do I know you ever stayed at the Wyndham?

Re: Censorship at its WORST

Well Sally unlike other boards it seemed that the majority of the folks who posted their complaints on there - had actually posted previously while planning for their trip and then subsequently posted to pass on the bad news in an effort to HELP others.

The details given were clearly an attempt to warn people so they did not make the same mistake. Doesn't seem too logical to me that a large # of people would decide to just bash the Wyndham for no good reason. Makes no sense.

So although your questioning whether the people actually ever stayed there COULD apply to one disgruntled traveler - it really has no logical relevance to this situation given the fact that this was a large number of people who all left their emails incase anyone wanted to contact them privately.

But thanks for your input!

Re: Censorship at its WORST

I'm supposed to be there now,my husband and I have been going there for 10 years,my Dad got sick so we cancelled this year.I loved the place, like anywhere you can have some problems but any we ever had were addressed within a short time.I thought the place was clean, great resturants right there, the best breakfast on the Island, the buffet is inside, all glass inclosed so you can see outside and thats where any flying insects stay! The pool is great, nice beach,I didnt care for having to get up early to get the hut we wanted but unless your a looser and get one of the ones for the high rollers you have to get up but then your glad to be on the beach.I'm not a picky person and I'm sure there will be people with some things they don't like about the place but I do like a clean place and I like to be treated with a smile, just like I have to do when I'm working so people will come back and I can cut a paycheck!Im going back next Nov so I'll let ya know then!Have a great time,I wish I was there to meet ya

Re: Censorship at its WORST

We did the Wyndham's all inclusive back in early Sept. Not only would we NEVER do an all inclusive on Aruba again, we would NEVER stay at the Wyndham Aruba either.

They closed their 2 main restaurants making our all inclusive dining options ridiculous and NOT what we paid for! Meaning - they reduced their italian and seafood menus to 1/4 of what they normally are and stuck us in the breakfast buffet area or out on a patio to dine. It was HORRIBLE. That combined with the service and the lousy condition of the room (dirty carpets, wet spots on carpet upon arrival, leaking bathroom ceiling which caused us to slip several times since each time they came to fix it, it never was fixed properly!!! - which is a HUGE OSHA violation in the USA!!), service, WINDY WINDY WINDY beach (and yes it is MUCH windier than other resorts in highrise area), dirty pool, and did I mention sarcastic service?

Think twice before booking the Wyndham until they get their act together - they are NO competition for Hyatt or Radisson that is for sure!
