Re: Divi mega

You can see pix of the Divi Aruba and Tamarijn resorts at my website www.geocities.com/THEFEEL2002 If you e-mail me at my address in blue, I will send you 3 pages of written material. Hopefully in the next week, I will be posting a small media player clip of the entertainment at the resorts. It is in process of being made now.

Re: Divi mega

I am going there in May and I've heard mixed opinions about it. Some say it's great and others say the staff is terrible. But you know, it doesn't matter where you go, there will always be negative feedback. Some people are easy to please and others are not. I've seen pictures of this place and it looks just beautiful. It's not too fancy and seems to be laid back a little more than the high rise resorts. Plus it's right on the beach. We have lanai room which is great....open your door and you're on the beach! What more could you ask for! I've also heard mixed opinion on the food. But if you're not a picky eater then you'll probably love it. You also have the choice of going to the Tam for use of their facilities. I know how I am and I can have fun no matter where I am. Always make the best of things. Go and enjoy!!!

Re: Divi mega

The Divi Beach Resort is great. You couldn't meet nicer staff. Like anywhere if you are polite to them they will go out of their way for you. We just got back and can't wait to go back again!!! I loved the food. The Red Parrot was terrific. The buffet was also great. I'm a big fish fan and I must have sampled at least 10 - 15 different kinds of fish. The argentine beef was also excellent.
We weren't as impressed with the Tam. - the atmosphere and decor were inferior to the Divi, but many people love it just the same.
The shows at night are great. You will really enjoy it.

The beach is the best.

Have fun - Wish I was going again!

Re: Divi mega

Shane,
I agree with Cathy completely. Stay in a casita - you won't be sorry.

Re: Divi mega

We stayed at the Tamarijn in 2002. The staff was wonderful and the food was wonderful. We have no complaints. We want to go back there next year. I would recommend that resort, Try the Red Parrott at the Divi Divi.

Re: Divi mega

The divi resorts are great. My husband and I stayed at the Tamarijn for 2 weeks and loved it. It's the only hotel that we could tell had the beach 4 steps from your room and very private. And the staff was so wonderful to us anything we needed they were there to provide it. I highly recommend the hotel it will be a choice you won't regret.

Re: Divi mega

Chris - forgive me - what is a casita? I've heard that the divi is awesome. I am looking for accommodations for three adults - and not the pull out couch situation! Do you know whether they have connecting rooms or suites? Any info that you can provide would be appreciated. Thanks, Suzanne

Nothing to forgive - I didn't know either. The casitas are a group of 6 rooms (like little bungalows) connected and angled so that every one has a view of the ocean. I don't think they have connecting rooms but I don't know for sure. The casitas are located steps from the beach. I originally wanted a lanai which are also right on the beach but the travel agent said, compared to the casitas, she really didn't think it was worth the extra money. Someone else may be able to tell you more about the lanais. The casita we stayed in had 2 queen size beds and it was the second in from the beach (#335). It was so convenient - we absolutely loved it. Have a great time.
