Divi Tamarijn or Bucuti

After many hours, or should I say days. No, actually weeks of reading reports and reviews we thought we had narrowed or Honeymoon choice down to the Bucuti. We were staying away from the AI resorts because we wanted to try the many dining choices that Aruba has to offer. We do like to eat and enjoy our drinks. A friend of my fiance and a travel agent recommended the Divi or Tamarijn. What do you all think....Bucuti or Divi/Tamarijn? If you decide the Tamarijn or Divi, which one between the two? THe Divi is $600 more than the Tamarijn, is it really worth it to pay that much when we can use the facilities there if we stay at the Tamarijn????

The Bucuti caters to honeymooners. You'll love the service and the privacy plus you rarely find families with children.

If it is between the Divi and the Tamarijin do not spend the money. If you pay for one you get to use the facilities at the other. The Tamarajin has no beach and is not even close to being as nice as the Divi.

My thought is you should stay at the Bucuti. My wife and I stayed there on our last trip and it was great. More intimate and polished than the Divi or Tam. Enjoy your trip regardless!

Re: Divi Tamarijn or Bucuti

We stayed at the Tam in February , I wouldn't even recommend the upgrade for the Divi . Also , the rooms at the Tam are right on the beach , unlike the Divi , some are set back from the beach a bit . The rooms from about the 1900 thru the 2500 block all have a decent beach , someone told me they've been redone since the storm a few years ago . Also , the people at the Tam just seemed a little freindlier , more laid back . Go on the KUKU bus , take the horseback ride , and rent a jeep for yourself , that way yu can see what you want , when you want to , at your own pace . Anyway you choose , Aruba is GREAT!!!!!

Re: Divi Tamarijn or Bucuti

My wife and I honeymooned at the Tamarijn. It was pretty nice-- fabulous just being in Aruba-- but we did the All-inclusive and wished we hadn't.
The food was not great and got old as the week wore on, and the drinks were tiny and not of the best quality.
One more minor complaint- the beach at the Tamarijn was a little gross... there was this huge exposed pipe leading out into the ocean... sewage? oil? Who knows, but not what we wanted to see. Also some seaweed and even a little trash seemed to collect there.
Don't mean to sound like a snob- the stay was a lot of fun and our room was clean and had a great view - balcony overlooking the ocean. The staff was nice too.
Ironically, however, we are leaving in a couple weeks for a stay at the Bucuti- our first visit there and first trip back since our honeymoon. Their live webcam of the beach is what sold it for us.
Enjoy your trip- you won't have a bad time either way!
