Could anyone give an opinion? We're older and looking for quiet, friendly, attractive.
Thanks ahead!

Re: Divi Village vs Manchebo

I own at the Phoenix, which is owned by divi resorts. Last year we stayed at the divi village and didnot care for it. The people who own their treated us like outsiders. We were there for 2 weeks, and didn't meet up with any friendly people. Sorry, we are in our middle 50s, like to read and relax. Only used the pool in the back with the villas because peple just gocked at us when we tried to find a chair by the larger pool..their space and all..
I have heard so many nice things about the Manchebo beach area. Id try there.

Re: Divi Village vs Manchebo

Divi Village is located across the road from the beach and if being directly on the beach is important to you, then stay at Manchebo.

Manchebo if beach person

Manchebo has a great wide big beach. So making friends on the beach is a little difficult. Have a timeshare near there so come on over and use the restaurants and shops and see whats going on. There are actually 3 so visit them all. Great beach for taking walks. My wife is usually up a seven and out for a mile walk(head north). I take mine mid day. Casino, a donut shop(great muffins), a bagel shop and a subway all within 80 yards.

Re: Divi Village vs Manchebo

We are a couple in our early 50's and stayed at the Manchebo in early September for the 2nd time. It is clean, quiet, and the people are friendly. I recommed it 100%. The beach is absolutely beautiful and uncrowded. If you stay there, be sure to go to happy hour and you should meet lots of great people.

Re: Divi Village vs Manchebo

Dear Tootles:

I am very sorry to hear that you had such an unpleasant experience at the Divi Village. I am an owner there and I have never experienced the behavior that you are speaking of. I generally find the people there to be extremely friendly. I have noticed however, that a lot of owners have been trading to other resorts the past two years and there are a lot more people at the Divi who are not owners there. Perhaps there were a lot more "non owners" there than you were aware of. Maybe that would explain some of the attitude you received.

Re: Divi Village vs Manchebo

I would definately recommend the Manchebo. Just got back on the fourth and stayed at the Manchebo for the second time. Absolutely love it. The beach is quiet and beautiful. We took a tour through the Divi and enjoyed it, but the only downfall is that you have to walk accross the street to the beach.
