First time visit

My boyfriend and I are planning on going to Aruba in May. We were wondering what hotels you would suggest. We would like something that is on the beach, close to the night life and is close to resurants and stores. We would also like to know if May is a good time to go to Aruba?
Thanks!!

Anytime is good to go to Aruba. Weather about the same all year round. Try the Bucuti. See www.bucuti.com If you choose to go all inclusive, go to the Divi Aruba Beach Resort. See www.megaresorts.com

Re: First time visit

Most of the "night life" is downtown and there is only one hotel there... which is not on the beach. I think the Rennasaince? People in general recommend the Divi for all-inclusive. I definitely recommend it over the Tam, and you'll be able to use their facilities anyways if you book the Mega package.

I think most restaurants that are within walking distance are by the high-rise hotels, but there are plenty of taxis available. I recommend Chalet Suisse, El Gacho, Madam Jeanettes, Texas De Brasil... etc. They are all so good!

Jolly Pirates is a great day time snorkeling trip and Tattoo is a really fun nighttime booze cruise. I've heard Kukoo Kanukoo (party bus) is a blast too. Check out all the links off this website.

Re: First time visit

Look for hotels in the high rise district, great beaches and lots of people walking around at night. If you want to go downtown its only 10 minutes away.

My personal favorite - the Radisson. Its in a great location. We've been staying there since its reopening and haven't been disappointed once. Its within walking distance to many restaurants, the Hyatt and the Allegro hotel. The Renaissance is located right in the middle of town. Too busy for me, but its your preference. You'' have a great time. We'll be there in December.
