I am at a stalemate over which Hotel would better suit our needs. We would prefer not too many teens/kids,and nice beach area. Thankyou to anyone who can help!!

Any large hotel you go to anywhere will have families with kids. If you want rest, relaxation and a great beach go to Manchebo or Bucuti. These are two small hotels on a great stretch of beach that offer a quieter vacation. Check out their websites and see if this is good for you. Any large hotel especially with water slides, day camp, etc., will attract kids so this might be a better choice for the type of vacation you are looking for. Enjoy........wherever you stay.

I agree with Suzanne. And between Manchebo & Bucuti, I'd go with Bucuti. But just so you know, because for some people this is an issue..topless abounds at both resorts.

I can't speak for the Bucuti or Manchebo, but if you are considering the Radisson, I don't think you'll be disappointed. My husband & I stayed there on our honeymoon last November and I recall few if any children at the resort. Most guests were either in their 30s or 50s and appeared to be on vacation or celebrating their anniversary. I enjoyed the beach at the Radisson because of the straw umbrellas and wait staff who would bring me lunch & beverages. However,those who've posted messages about the beach at the Bucuti say it's wonderful, too. There are no waterslides or "gimicks" for children at the Radisson (as I recall); it's a resort for adults.

The radisson is the newest one as it took two years to rebuild. One thing you should know is that on sunday most of the resorts allow the help to bring family to the resort so you will get some kids but the time you are going i wouldn't expect many children. If it is quiet and r&r you want with a great beach the Bucuti fits the bill.

Al, thanks for the tip about Sundays. I didn't arrive until Sunday night last year & left on Saturday. However, we'll be arriving on Saturday in August. Perhaps that's a good day to go shopping!
