RE: Holiday Inn

Hi just came back from the Holiday Inn on Saturday. Was there with 8 children ages 7 to 18. It was my first time and my siblings 6 or 7th. He has stayed at the HI everytime. However this visit he was very dissapointed with what he found.

First we were placed in the building farthest from main building then on the top floor on the other side! My room was clean, but the water pressure in the shower was poor. In addition the water level in the toilet just didn't do the job!

The coffee maker didn't work and my brother ruined several shirts before he realized the spots on his shirts were being made by the iron (not burn/scorch marksbut it was something melted. He thought he just brought dirty shirts!)

The last two days of the trip walking back to our rooms there was always a sewage smell along the walkway.

Children do not eat free unless you buy the inclusive (sp?). After showing them an ad in the a book that was right in the room the manager finally agreed to let the three younger children eat free. He then confiscated the book on the spot.

The only meal we ate in the hotel was breakfast and after one time I went to Duncan Donuts down the street. Breakfast cost me $30 for two of us. It was a buffet and as neither of us are big eaters so it was a waste. I don't believe that you could just order a la carte, but then I didn't ask either. My other family members usually ate breakfast (it usually cost my brother's $60 for 4 then 2 where free but then he had boys so maybe he got his money's worth), skipped lunch then ate dinner.

They have theme night in which we went to Carnival on Wed. For $25.00 you received 2 drinks, ham, chicken, fish and beef kaboob with salads, veggies, bread, cake. It was buffet and many of the items were cold. Not being a drinker again I don't think I got my money's worth. I got a better meal for $24.00 at El Graucho's.

I will say they do have a very nice beach. Go down early and grab your lounge chairs. They also provided beach towel cards, but make sure you get one for each person when you check in.

I did like the shops, but have cash or credit card ready as nothing can be charged to your room.

The next time we go we're going to look at another hotel. Good luck.
