HOLIDAY INN

HAS ANYONE STAYED AT THE HOKIDAY INN LATELY? HOW ARE THE ROOMS? ARE THEY CLEAN (NOT MOLDY OR MUSTY). HOW IS THE FOOD IN THE RESTAURANTS? CAN YOU CATCH A BUS NEARBY? IS THE STAFF FRIENDLY?
HOW EXPENSIVE IS IT TO RENT A CHAISE LOUNGE ON THE BEACH AND BUY FROZEN DRINKS AND SNACKS. ETC, ETC, ETC.
ANY INFO WOULD BE APPRECIATED. GOING SOON TO ARUBA FOR THE FIRST TIME.

RE: HOLIDAY INN

The rooms are VERY basic. Pool much too small for the amount of rooms. Do not recommend eating meals at the hotel as the food is not very good. There is no fee for lounge chairs for guests of the hotel. Frozen drinks can run from $5-$6 each. Bus stops in front of hotel. This is a very basic hotel but OK just for sleeping and showering but eat out and sample the wonderful restaurants.

RE: HOLIDAY INN

jamie, the holiday inn is a fine hotel, the others are just more glamorous, the holiday inn was the first hotel on the island and sits on the beast part of the beach and nobody is going to argue that, why pay a few hundred dollars a person more to stay in another hotel, your not going to be in your room much anyway and all the money you save you can pay for excellent restaurants, car rentals, trips and so on, besides you can visit freely any other hotels resturants and casinos and explore them more for a next vacation there, i will be going in august and staying there with my two kids an i stayed there a few years ago and never had a problem, if you need any more info let me know on the message board good luck louis

RE: HOLIDAY INN

I love the Holiday Inn. Rooms are much larger than other resorts. pool not great but in aruba, I want the beach. sure you can pay hundreds more at other resorts, but HI is great value and the best beach.

RE: HOLIDAY INN

I've stayed there every year for the past six. It's a basic hotel. The rooms are clean and the service good. I never eat at the hotel (other than breakfest) the restaurants on the island are too good. (never take all inclusive) The beach is excellent and possibly the best stretch on the island. You can go to any hotel, sit in any chair, eat in any restaurant, the rest is a place to sleep. I'd rather spend my money on the activites and food versus a room. However the Hyatt offers a much prettier environment as do some others. It's just depends on what you want to spend your money on.

RE: HOLIDAY INN

I considered going there, but didn't because of the bad press. When I was in Aruba last week I stopped by to see it. Boy was I glad I didn't choose it!! I would suggest the Allegro or Wyndham

RE: HOLIDAY INN

I just love guys like Joe. He is the guy I want walking over to the Radisson where I am staying, and PAYING, plopping down next to my wife and I. He'll be the loud idiot annoying all the paying guest. I love it, "why pay the hundreds of dollars more to stay at one of the expensive hotels". Ya, I guess it's cheaper to freeload. Just an FYI Joe, the paying guests of the hotels don't want you there and I'm pretty sure the hotel management doesen't either.
