How is the Aruba Grand??

My fiance and I are planning an early April honeymoon. We have access to several timeshares. What are the best ones to stay at?? Royal Palm at Aruba Grand?? Allegro?? Divi?? Costa Linda?? Playa Linda?? etc......
We are looking for a place that caters more to honeymooners than families with children. ) Any help would be greatly appreciated!!! Thanks

Candy - bon dia (good morning),

The Aruba Grand would be ok if you were renewing your 50th year wedding vows....the place is for old people..... check out the Playa Linda or Costa Linda.... great timeshares

PL is on Palm Beach....my favorite
and CL is on EAgle Beach

RE: How is the Aruba Grand??

I'd have to say that the Grand is NOT the most hoping place in Aruba but consider this... you can walk/ride to any place that IS. We stayed at the Grand in March 02 for a week and we had a fabulous time. The hotel was nicely uncrowded and we seemed to relax a LOT while staying there. The beach is bigger than most hotels, the service is VERY good, the staff, responsive... we got our money's worth. Some of the other nearby hotels were booked solid and jam packed. While walking up and down the beaches, we saw most were choked with people. We were glad we stayed were we did. My wife and I are only 40 so... you'll have to figure it out.

We have been staying in the Grand's lanai rooms every year since '96 and are in our 30's. Love the peace and quiet there and the uncrowded beach. So I guess if the "place is for old people" as mg said above then we are "old".

RE: How is the Aruba Grand??

Truthfully, the Aruba Grand is like a run-down old age home or Deadsville. There are so few people there that you could not even manage to have a decent happy hour. We went to happy hour at the Wyndham (next door) every day where they had live music and other people to socialize with. I would never stay at the Aruba Grand again. Next time, I plan on staying at the Wyndham.

RE: How is the Aruba Grand??

Everyone has different tastes for a vacation hotel - we're not there for happy hour (we have our own private happy hour on our balcony in the lanai rooms) - we're there for peace and quiet and the Grand gives us just that. The Wyndham has over 400 rooms (too big for us) and the Grand has under 200 rooms. You do the math.

We love it there...but that is just our own opinion in what a vacation means to us. Like I said, everyone has different tastes and that is what is wonderful about Aruba...they have different hotels types to please everyone.

RE: How is the Aruba Grand??

Great! It has the best beach and the same people have been working there ever since we began going to Aruba 1987!! I know you will love it there. And if you decide to return I have a one bedroom beachfront timeshare. Walk out your door and you are on the beach. I have this extra week which is week five the first week in Feb. If you return there is nothing like having your private beachfront entrance with a frontyard with beautiful flowers and wrought iron fence. And your own private lounge chairs. Check out room 205 and if intersted I would rent it a a very reasonable rate. Bon Bini
