how busy is end of May

How busy is the end of May season? We a couple are coming from a South America trip as a rest stop to Aruba. Given all the experiences we had we rather walk up to a place and check it out then settle on the best we like. We dont like to make a commitment with CC up front as we dont know what to expect.
So how busy is the end of May for just taking the bus from the Airport and head out then walk around with a list of places I have and have a "walk in" to get a room? thank you.

May certainly isnt the high season, but there are a lot of music/film festivals going on. Check the dates - although around that time unless something is going on there are typically vacancies. On your way up from the airport check out "Talk of the Town". It is right on the main road just out of the traffic circle after the airport. Across the street from the beach and not overly expensive. It may be a little more than you want to spend though at about $115 a night.

Should be either in Oranjestad or up north but near a bus stop. We prefer to pay cash upon arrival.
    Thank you for any response.

Check out MVC eagle beach resort.
Don't know if it meets your financial guidelines
but it is pretty cheap and across the street from

Soul Beach Music Festival May 23 - 28th

The U.S. celebrates a 3 day holiday weekend the 26th-28th so that will impact the island with additional visitors as well.
