How is the Hyatt?

Their website doesn't give a very good decription of the property and the photos are horrible.

But it is the only hotel American Express lists as their "Fine" resorts in Aruba. So I know it must be better than what the website depicts.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,
Shannon

Re: How is the Hyatt?

Shannon,

My wife and I have been going to Aruba for many years now and we always stay at the Hyatt. We have been to the other hotels and they are OK. We love the Hyatt. They have the best staff(we have made many friends). the grounds are great. The rooms are not bad either. People complain that they have only step out balconies. If you have stayed at other Hyatt hotels, you can request an upgrade to a small suite that has a balcony with table and chairs. Since we have been staying there for several years, the management always gives us a suite(a large one with a separate bedroom).
If you have any further questions about the Hyatt, just e-mail me.

Re: How is the Hyatt?

My husband and I stayed at the Hyatt on our honeymoon (not long after it opened). It is a beautiful, elegant hotel. The grounds/lobby are open-air with a Spanish feel to them. Their top-notch restaurant is also very good. The rooms are very nice, but I would say not any nicer than other hotels in this price range. Other than a suite, your room will have only a step-out balcony...this was definitely a drawback for me. When I'm in the Carribean I love to sit on the balcony with a drink & a good book.
When we stayed at the Hyatt, we stayed on the top floor (Regency Club) and, as I said, the rooms were nice, but no nicer than other places I've stayed.
Have you considered the Radisson in Aruba? We also used to stay there (when it was called the Golden Tulip) and it is a beautiful hotel with an open-air lobby and beautiful grounds. I think the beach area at the Radisson is the best on Palm Beach. Also, if I remember correctly, the bathrooms were very large marble baths.
Good luck & enjoy your vacation!

Re: How is the Hyatt?

We stayed at the Hyatt last week, April 18 - 24 and it was wonderful. I had noticed it too in the American Express guide and we were not disappointed at all. It may be a little pricey but it is worth it! The people, especially, made our trip delightful. The grounds are stunningly beautiful too. You will love it!

Re: How is the Hyatt?

Shannon,

My girlfriend and I stayed at the Hyatt for 10 days and we loved it. They had upgraded our room and we were given a room w/ a balcony that you could sit out on. I didnt realize when I first made my reservation that most of the rooms had a balcony that was about two feet wide! I guess we lucked out becasue we are both big balcony people who enjoy sitting out there. The grounds at the Hyatt are beautiful and food was very good. Funny, we both always rave about the nachos that they served at the bar to our friends. What a thing to remember about a place = )

Hope you have a great time.... We cant wait to go back again.

Anyone ever stay at the Radisson?? We have stayed at the Hyatt and the Wyndham and were thinking about trying the Radisson next time.
