How's PDV?

Anyone stay at Paradise Beach Villas? Just booked 3rd floor in Phase II. Any comments will be appreciated.

Re: How's PDV?

Steve, I own at PBV and it is a very nice resort. It is smaller and more laid back than the high rise resorts. You will have a nice view of the ocean from the 3rd floor and the pool area is beautiful. There is a pool bar/restaurant and a La Petit Cafe on site. Great sunsets from the Stargazer Lounge. The units are very nice and well appointed. Please feel free to e-mail with any questions. Also check out their website. Tina

Re: How's PDV?

At PBV be advised that to get to the beach you have to cross a very busy street.
Depending on which way your unit is facing and the size of the unit will deteermine your view. We had a unit on the third floor that faced the parking lot---lots of fumes.
We had a one bedroom and our bedroom had no window. The ac had to be fixed several times
and we were located by the elevator and steps
You would think that was good--but there was a storm door that seperated the elevator area from the rooms and it kept banging all night due to the wind coming through the hall. We complained but it was ignored by management. The people at the desk were also rude . We love Aruba but I would not go back to PBV.

Re: How's PDV?

first of all the street that you have to walk across to get to the beach is not a busy street at all, and the people at the front desk are not rude, they have a very friendly staff there, we have never had a problem there , we have time share there and have been going there for years. it is a quiet resort not like the city next door, LA cabana, with a bunch of children running around, it is a quiet comfortable resort.

Re: How's PDV?

Peggy,
I guess we all have our own opinions as to what is busy, but I stayed there last Easter and that street was so busy in that area that the police were there to help people cross. At that time of year the citizens of Aruba have a tradition to go camping on the beach the week before and after Easter. It was so busy that the police were out in full force. Perhaps you do not go during the busy time of year.
As far as the front desk...they were so rude that when we got home the general manager who was off the week we were there
called us back in the US. He said that one of his employees told him how rude the front desk ladies were...he offered us a free week!
He also told us that in Aruba it takes an act of Congress to fire anyone...so he apologized for them. Perhaps that's a plus!
And agree it is not as crazy as La Cabana.
I think it's what you really want out of a resort. If you want a totally dead place---yes--go there---if you want crazy go to La Cabana. If you want a place in the middle-there are other places much more suited. We have children and this place is not all that child friendly. We did not take our kids but I watched other families there and how the children were treated. It's all in what your needs are!

Re: How's PDV?

Steve,

We own 2BR Columbus Day week and only have good things to report for the last 5 years.
If your middle aged and like a quiet place to relax during the day with a "great beach"
PBV is the spot. We love it there because it's close to all the nearby lively night life also. Never had any problems with the staff. I've been told there is an unwritten rule and you will see signs posted "You will be treated as you treat others". Love it!!
