Hyatt or Radisson

My wife and I recently made travel arrangements for Aruba in June. As of now we are staying at the Hyatt with a partial oceanview. The Radisson was also offered and I believe was only a few hundred dollars more then the Hyatt. Here is my problem, I just picked the Frommer's Pocket Guide to Aruba, and they gave the Hyatt two stars and the Radisson three stars. So, for the people who have been to these hotels in the past, which one did you enjoy the most?

Thanks in advance for any information.

Hank

RE: Hyatt or Radisson

I'm going in 3 weeks. We are staying at the Radisson. The rate I got was better there than at the Hyatt. The Radisson just had a 55 million dollar renovation in the last year or so. I believe that right now it beats the Hyatt. For more info , go to the search on this web page and type in Hyatt or Radisson. This topic pops up at least once a week on this board.
Enjoy.

I, too, vote for the Radisson. The Hyatt is very nice with beautiful grounds (Radisson also beautiful grounds) but I love having a balcony and Hyatt doesn't just these little step on areas but no place or room to sit. The Radisson should price better than the Hyatt. For an idea of prices here's the website of the agency we use and they specialize in Aruba:

The book must be wrong. Hyatt is much nicer. The Service is at the Hyatt will blow the Radisson away. The Radisson looks nice and all but I have heard bad things about the service there.

i am very surprised the radisson is more money. It has been completely re-done, but for my money i would definitely stay at the hyatt - especially if it is less. the partial view will not be the best, but lets face it, very little times will be spent in your room - you can always look to upgrade the room when you get there. the radisson is not nearly the hyatt - believe me

RE: Hyatt or Radisson

due to illness we did not go to aruba in january like we always do, but we have made plans to go in may. the great price that i got from the hyatt which i still think is the best compared to any of the other hotels in the area. it is a great place to be because you are right on the beach and at night you can walk from hotel to hotel without any problems right on the beach sidewalk. we use to stay at the radisson, which was the golden tulip before renovations, (also the queens hotel years ago) but i always go to the hyatt now.

RE: Hyatt or Radisson

main draw back to the hyatt is that you can not sit out on most of the balconies one can barely fit a chair out there. the service ambiance landscaping and if intersted water slide are all wonderful. the radisson is top notch also. if however you like sitting on a balcony watching the sunset you cannot do that in most rooms at the hyatt. but aruba is wonderful you would have to try really hard to have a bad time
