Jeep Rental

My hubby and I will be in Aruba the first week of December, '04. He was suggesting that we get a Jeep to rent for a couple of
days. We are staying in a hotel on Eagle Beach.

What do you think? We have only been to Aruba once, and that was part of a cruise. We were only in Aruba for one day, from 8am to 6pm, and stayed on Palm Beach. Do you think we need a Jeep to get around? Would any other type of car work?

Thanks for your help.

Re: Jeep Rental

A three day rental would be ideal for you. You will be able to go to the rougher areas of the North Shore, and still use it in town for dinners at out of the way places, i.e. Flying Fishbone.

Re: Jeep Rental

We rented for 3 days. But if you specifcally want a jeep wrangler then you need to call ahead and have one reserved. We called everywhere, but none had jeeps available til the end of the week. So we settled for a jimmnie. It costs half as much to rent for 1 day then to rent for 3 so why not. Its nice to be able to go and come as you please and to tour the island at your own pace.

Re: Jeep Rental

you can access everything with a jimny but I don't think comfortably with four people. The only thing you may have a problem with is the natural pool if you decide to go. Tour buses can even make it to the natural bridge, so if thats where you want to go, save yourself some money and rent a car. If you truly want to see the whole island. Starting at the California Lighthouse and down to the natural pool along the coastline, you will need a wrangler. I must have pulled out and helped out 10 people over the years trying to follow me through some of the trails with jinmys. They just don't have the capabilities of a wrangler in certain situations. Check out more4lessaruba.com, they only rent wranglers.
