La Cabana Resort & Casino

Can anyone tell me any info on this hotel? We booked an all inclusive here for our honeymoon but I never find any information about it! Except for the site that the hotel has itself which of course would be biased.

Is it near anything else such as bars, events, etc.? I would appreciate any comments that anyone has about it!

Thanks!
Shirley

LaCabana is not a hotel..It is a time share resort..very large..i would check to see where your rooms are..If you are in a Villa, you'll have a long walk to the beach, but the villas do have a pool and waerslide..Lots of families go there..Not my idea of a place for a honeymoon..Did you look at the Divi, Tam, Buscuti, the Whndam, Raddison, Rennisance,or Aruba Grand for your honeymoon..

Re: La Cabana Resort & Casino

Thank you for the input...although it depressed me! We are already completely booked and paid in full for the honeymoon so I'm kind of stuck going to this hotel.

I am mad that the travel agent we went through didn't suggest a more appropriate place!!!

Re: La Cabana Resort & Casino

It is not a long walk to the beach and dont be depressed LaCabana will be wonderful for your honeymoon. The beach is not far and the water is beautiful, the resort has a lot to do, if you want, if not the pool is nice, the drinks are great, and the beach is the best. Think about renting a car or jeep for a day or two and explore the island. Try snorkling, or a cruise. GHo to www.LaCabana,com Best wishes,

Re: La Cabana Resort & Casino

Shirley,

I don't know if your staying in the Villas or the Beach and Racket Club (BRC). Yes the Villas are about a 3 minute walk to the beach and the BRC face the water. LaCabana is right acrosss the street from the water, but don't get worried as this is not a busy road.

As for your hooney moon....you'll enjoy Aruba and LaCabana. My wife and I stayed at the Villas about 6 years ago on our first trip ever to Aruba and while I wasn't crazy about being away from the water, we had a great time and loved it so much we now have a few timeshares in Aruba.

I would ask check with your travel agent to see if you are staying in the BRC or the Villas. I do know that the Villas did need some updating and BRC was just totally updated 2 years ago. If you don't like your room when you get there, I would complain to the front desk.

Have a great time,
Joe H.

Re: La Cabana Resort & Casino

I am always amused at the people who say it's a long walkto the beach and bemoan the fact that you have to "cross the street". Comparing the walk to the beach at LaCabana
to taking the elevator, walking through the lobby and down winding stairs to the pools and beach at the high rises, the ealk is nothing at LaCabana. The beach is beautiful there and there isnt the crowd of people that you find on the other end of the beaches.
LaCabana has wonderful restaurants, the pools are great, and the bus stop is right in front for you to travel downtown or anywhere else. The rooms are very nice and the atmosphere is less formal than many of the high priced hotels.
You'll love Aruba and LaCabana for your honeymoon, don't worry. We honeymooned in Aruba 28 years ago and still go back every year. The island has changed, but you'll have a super time!
