Re: lacabana recently

We came back from LC after 3 week stay there over the Christmas/New Years time period. It is good value for your money and it is a fine place to stay. However, I would no longer classify it as a five star accommodations. Having stayed there numerous times in the past, we felt that a few things have changed in the past few years. The rooms are still kept clean but no longer immaculate. The housekeeping is good and the rooms in the Villa section are getting a little tired looking. As other places on the island are upgrading, unfortunately, LC is not. Another example, was on the beach and the pool there used to be people coming around to take orders for food or drinks. This is no longer available but is still done on other resorts. The islander grill was not open every night for dinner during peak season. Kids activities are not as plentiful and with the same caliber of supplies. Although I would still recommend LC and it is a great place to stay, just be aware of the changes.

Re: lacabana recently

8 of us from April 3 to 10 at the lacabana beach club side, 3 rooms all great, the grounds, pools and beach great, daily maid service did a great job. The drinks were watered down not very strong. The pool grill was very good for lunches, the other LaCabana restaurants vere fair at best, I would suggest eat your lunches at LaCabana and go out to eat at night. You can relax or be active it's up to you, lots of things to do if you want. All in all a great time, we are already booked for another trip for thanksgiving. e-mail me if you have any questions

just returned from lacabana and my experience was very good. friendly staff and our daily maid service was evidant but we didnt see her ever.
very clean
i read a lot of these message boards and was worried there would be a lot of kids being a timeshare. but i guess its like any other place in the world if you travel spring break,, easter break ect there will be lots of kids but i traveled after and
only seen a handful the entire week.
it was great i would stay there again
nice beach

WE just returned from LC this week 5/1/04. We had a great time. Can't say anything bad about the maid service or the food. Everything was great. This was our second year and we plan to go again. and again..

Re: lacabana recently

Hi,

LaCabana is actually 2 separate resorts that are managed as one. The Villas and the Beach and Racket Club (BRC). The BRC have been very financially stable and just had all of the rooms redone 2 years ago. The Villas have run into to some financial problems which has caused some of the units not to have been updated that they need.

If your interested I'm currently selling\renting a one bed room in BRC located on the top floor. If your interested please email me at jhruska@yahoo.com.

Thanks,
Joe H.

Re: lacabana recently

Which unit do you own? And how much are you asking? Just curious why are you selling?
