marriott

This will be our fifth trip to Aruba this coming October. We booked the Marriott because they had the best price (last time we stayed at Radisson). We are booked in a garden view room. Could anyone tell me how this room is and could we possibly upgrade to partial ocean view? Also is there a good kids program (ages 8 and 11) that is not babyish? Are all water sports available nearby that can be charged to your room? Thanks!

Re: marriott

The Garden view room is just what it states, a view of a Garden or it may overlook toward the front of the hotel rather than the Ocean. The rooms are all beautiful there. They are large rooms with lots of space and large balconies. The rooms are extremely clean. Personally for as much time as you spend in your room, I wouldn't worry about the view. It is a beautiful resort and you will love it. We have stayed Gardenview many times and the room is great. If it is not that crowded you can always ask for a better situated room. Yes you can charge watersports to your room thru Red Sail Sports, but there are also other beach vendors(one being Franks watersports) that will also give you great deals, but you just can't charge it to your room. The Marriott will tell you only to use Red Sail, but our experiences with the kids has been Franks is great. They are more family oriented. There is a blond Dutch woman and a heavier man names Jesus. They are super friendly and have always beat others prices and give nice long rides. They are very seet to the kids .They have a tent right in between the Marriott and Marriott Ocean Club. The kids Club I can't help you much with. It is a nice clean place though, and right behind the kids Club is a Pizza place with games and computers. The kids love it there.I have never put my kids in their program though, but you can always see the kids taking beach walks and making jewelry and playing Bingo.there is also a game room and outside pool and fusball tables. Every day under your door the hotel will slip a little piece of paper that will tell you what is going on around the pools and the activities of the next day for you and the kids. There is also an igueana feeding and learning about them time, every day at the resort.
