I spoke to Marriott, they are beginning major renovations July 7th thru the end of the year. I did not know this when I made my reservations in February. Now out of nowehere, they put this in my online reservation confirmation, and I am pissed off.
Has anyone else heard of this, and does anyone know anything about the extent of the renovations?

We booked our trip through Liberty Travel who let us know about the construction on Sunday. We called the Marriott and they said that the construction begins on the 7th, but that it is minimal. One tower at a time and only moving minor things out of the rooms (towels, furniture etc) beginning that date!

We were furious... let me know if you hear of anything else...

Just an FYI. all the resorts do their renovations between May and December. They never do it during high season because the resorts are too crowded.
