Marriott vs Raddison

I'm sorry I know this has been debated a million times on this board, but I am at a complete stalemate between the two hotels! The Marriott has a swim up bar but the Raddison is closer to restaurants, the Marriott seems to be a little more expensive but less foot traffic, I am a United Milage Plus member and would be earing miles through the Marriott and they have that One Cool Card but there have been more positives on this board about the Raddison... the pros and cons are endless! Can anyone give me any solid advice for chosing which hotel to stay at for my honeymoon? I have come to completely trust the opinions of the people on this board, so thank you in advance.

Re: Marriott vs Radisson

Grace,
I know many people who visit Aruba speak very highly of the Radisson but the Marriott Hotels and Timeshare are just world class. Marriott has been so successful in Aruba that they opened a timeshare directly next store to the hotel about 6 years ago and are just in the process of completing the first phase of the second timeshare which is the Surf Club.

I have been a huge Marriott fan and customer for over 10 years now. The main reason for that all my stays including, NYC, Palm Springs, Aruba, Hawaii, Chicago, etc. all prove to be world class in cleanliness, customer service and comfort. Even when I stay in the other brands that Marriott offers such as the courtyard or fairfield, I get the same consistent service no matter what.

Hope this helps.
Steve

Re: Marriott vs Raddison

Steve is right..We have been owners in the Marriott system since 1984..We have never been dissapointed anywhere we have traveled in the Marriott system. We have been comming to Aruba forthe last 12 years and always stay at the HOTEL in January. In fact we used to stay at another hotel and watched the Marriott being finished..We couldn't wait for it to be done. You will not be sorry with a stay at the Marriott Aruba..It's the best.
I'd love to be leaving today as we are in the middle of a fierce ice and snow storm..Enjoy...

Re: Marriott vs Raddison

Hi Grace - I think I'm going to make your decision more complicated! We stayed this past Fall at the Radisson and loved it! We are going back again at the end of October, but are staying at the Marriott because for the same price it would cost us at Radisson, Marriott is giving us a partial ocean view and including the breakfast buffet for my husband and I every day. When we were there this past November we checked out the Marriott and it was beautiful. My only concern is the hut thing where you have to pay $50.00 per day. Hopefully by then they will have resolved it. Either way you will have a great time!

Re: Marriott vs Raddison

I would NOT choose the Marriott simply because I refuse to pay for a hut on a public beach after I have paid $$$$$ to stay at the hotel. I would stay at the Hyatt or Raddison, would not give Marriott another penny!!!!!! Just my very strong opinion.

Re: Marriott vs Raddison

We always stay at the Radisson. We love it there. The Marriott is nice but too far down. I also think the beach in front of the Radisson is nicer than in front of the Marriott. We have been there 6 times and will be there again in June right back at the RAD.

Re: Marriott vs Raddison

We stayed the last four years at the Radisson and loved every minute. The grounds are so romantic at night walking thru the gardens. This past November we stayed at the Marriot for three nights and then to the Radisson for five nights.. The Marriott room is very nice but we the Radisson was home. The staff is just wonderful and I too won't paid any $$$ for a hut on the beach. The Radisson beach is very large and has alot more huts and the pool... fantastic... Try and stay in the main building and congratulations on you wedding... you won't regret it...
