Re: Occidental Grand Aruba

Hi,

I stayed at the Occidntal in Sept 2001 for my honeymoon and liked it so much we are going back this month. We are doing the all-inclusive plan again. The drinks are good and the food is very good. If you're doing the all-inc don't miss Caruso's. It's a specialty restaurant thats included with the all-inc in the lower level and you must make reservations to eat there. They also have a nightly show in the main ballroom and afterwards in the sports bar they have staff doing different skits (ie/dance competition for guests).

There is also a a great restaurant called El Gaucho that I would highly recommend going out to. Their steaks are fabulous.

We rented a 4x4 the first time we were there and took a tour of the island. The island is beautiful. We are planning on horseback riding this time....I've read this is great also.

Public transportation is safe and very cheap, so don't be afraid to hop a bus into a town. They have some great jewelry shopping there!

If you have any specific questions feel free to email me at nfahey@verizon.net.

Enjoy your trip!

Nancy

Re: Occidental Grand Aruba

We own a timeshare there and love it. As Nancy said, don't miss carusos. Make resrvations teh first days you get there. you can always cancel. Food id the best there. The shows are ok. we liked the show tunes best. You can go in just to the show if you want, even if you are not all inclusive. Buses are $1.25/trip, $2 round trip. We love Aruba. We are still trying to get airfare for the week of August 3 so hope to be down there soon. Linda
