Occidental or La Cabana....

I am planning a trip to Aruba and can't decide where to stay. Should I go with Occidental or La Cabana with an all inclusive add on?

RE: Occidental or La Cabana....

just returned from Aruba. Stayed at the Lacabana all inclusive. It was fantastic!!!! Food was very good, they offer buffet's at the captain table and all lacarte. you do not have to use your dinner coupons for the buffet. Prime rib buffet on sat or sunday was cut at least 2 inches thick. Everything was incredible!! Rooms are beautiful. plenty of huts on the beach. We have about 50 people going in may and we are all staying at the Lacabana.

Did you purchase the all inclusive from La Cabana or from your travel agent? I saw a GWV inclusive package, but you had certain selections for dinner and you could only go to the Captain's Table OR E Piscado and only once. The rest of the meals were mostly from the Pool Grill and Theme nights.

Don't stay at the Accidental (occidental), it's just that. La Cabana is much, much better.

RE: Occidental or La Cabana....

Occidental Allegro is located on Palm Beach with the other high-rise hotels and there is much more activity in this area. Plus hotel located directly on the beach. La Cabana is very family oriented and across the street from the beach.

Do not recommend all-inclusive at La Cabana as it is not very good. Occidental package comes with a full buffet breakfast daily. You don't need all-inclusive in Aruba as safety is not a concern and there are so many truly wonderful restaurants to choose from. If you are choosing all-inclusive because of the drinks, I just saw a special on http://www.travelunlimited.com for Occidental Allegro that included unlimited drinks.

Hi, Why is the La Cabana better? I found a good deal for the occidental-all inclusive. I have never been to Aruba but want to go there for my honeymoon and I heard that the La Cabana is more family oriented and not that luxurious. Please advise. Thank you.

I just heard that La Cabana is very nice but too many kids. Occidental is supposed to be more relaxing.

Occidental (Accidental) is full of young, rowdy, intoxicated "all-you-can-drink" party animals. It is definitely not a relaxing place. If you are looking for relaxing, go elsewhere.

Occidental is a great place. Sue does not know what she is talking about. That is not how it is there. It is awesome.

loreeann - If you think the "Accidental" is awesome, then you must be one of those drunken party animals.
