"Uniquely located within walking distance 150 meters (3 minutes walking) from the beach, right across from the Marriott resort and Ruth's Chris Steakhouse at world famous Palm Beach".
That would be a no then Plus, sometimes when you read 3 minutes walking, that would be 3 minutes for an olympic athlete, they just don't mention THAT
In the end it will probably be a matter of KiloAlpha's personal preference (and the rest of the group of course!). I don't think crowds will be a big problem in late June. Last year we were there in July, it wasn't that crowded at all in the high-rise area, or anywhere else for that matter.
PS: Might try and pinpoint it with Google Earth tomorrow. Not installed on this laptop, bed's too comfortable to leave
wow, lots of good advice KiloAlpha11, based on what you've said I'd have to agree that eagle beach is right up your alley..I think someone already mentionned but I'd recommend the tamarind...its a two storey...all rooms face the beach...no crowds..and when you want a taste of the "ra-ra" just hop on bus up to palm beach for a few hours...but hey just remember...its aruba..you just simply can't go wrong...enjoy!
My husband and I have stayed at the Board Walk, Bananas Apt's (in Malmok) and several in the resort area. If you choose to walk to most activities, the Board Walk is 100 ft from the entrance to Marriot Stellaris (across the road). The 1 bedroom apts are large, well furnished with kitchenette area, full size fridge, 2 burner cook top and bbq available. Airco in bedroom only. Lovley covered patio area with table and chairs, hammock near by. The pool is a little small and hard to keep clean due to the landscaping. You are able to use the Palapa huts across the street at Vela Windsurfers which are directly on the beach and a lovely area. If you request a reservation quote, ask about any specials, they will offer a discount for extended periods, or sometimes special includes car rental. There are many accomodation options available on Aruba, you will just need to do some research. Our next trip is Sept 26 - Oct 17 with a house rental.
We are owners at Playa Linda. So yes, I am partial to the resort. It is centrally located smack in the middle of Palm Beach. The front of the resort has lots to do and see on that "strip". Once in the resort and when going to the pool and beach its quiet. There is no casino on the grounds of Playa Linda, but there are casinos within walking distance - Holiday Inn, Radisson, Occidental, Marriott. The units are large and spacious and much better than a hotel room and I agree on not going all inclusive - better to explore and eat what you like - there are both very reasonable and expensive restaurants, but you choose. A favorite of ours is Smokey Joe's. Lot of good food and reasonably priced. With that being said, I have friends who always stay at LaCabana and they love it. The ocean is across the street from the resort, but the water can't be beat, and depending on what time of year you go, you might get to see the turtles hatching on the beach. That's awesome! Have fun deciding, but wherever you stay, you'll love Aruba.
