Dear Members,
When renting our unit we do not use a contract. We just e-mail a copy of the receipt showing that the maintenance fees are current. The renter sends us the check and when it clears, the Marriott is notified to put the reservation in his/her name. Works for us! P.S. The contract is about as good as the sheet of paper that is printed on from a legal point of view in NY.

Question on renting timeshares from owner
So I have never rented a timeshare before and not sure how it works. I have a timeshare I want to rent from this person that lives in Europe. He wants me to send him a check for the rental and after he will send a letter to me and the resort. I contacted him off of the resort in questions Bulletin Board. What can I do to avoid being scammed??
