Just booked the Radission for late Oct. honeymoon. Is there a swim up bar at the hotel?? No a major concern but would be nice? Any comments suggestions to do while at the Radission. 1st time visit for both.

RE: Radission

Scott, the Radisson is very nice. It would be nice to have the swim up bar but they do have tons of pools! Very private. The Allegro has the swim up bar. You will love Aruba and it will be the only place you will want to visit after your trip!

Things you really should do:

Tons of honeymooners go on the Party Buses. The Banana Bus or

Also go to El Gaucho. Make a reservation before you leave because it is sometimes hard to make one when you are there.

Here is another fun thing to do:

Another restaurant that would be pretty romantic would be the "Flying Fish" It's on the water and the tables are actually on the sand. I thought the food was great but others might say different.

have fun!

RE: Radission

Scott,
The radisson is a great choice! We transferred there from Allegro and were very happy. All i will say is that I probably wouldnt recommend Allegro to anyone. The pools at the hotel are beautiful(although we spent most of our time on the beach, the water is incredible) The hotel and grounds are romantic and were fairly quiet. The Sunday brunch was excellent at the hotel and the beach bar Gilligans is great! Good drinks (a little expensive but being on our honeymoon we splurged) and excellent food. My husband and i shared the fajitas a couple of days for a light lunch, very good. We took the 1/2 day bus trip around the island which was fun and i have also heard the jeep tours are fun but very hot and dusty. E-mail me if you want some more info. I think you made a great choice with the Radisson!!!

RE: Radission

Scott, take a look at my posting as a reply to "ALL INCLUSIVE OR NOT? My husband & I stayed at the Radisson on our honeymoon last November & we had so much fun we're going again this year! We rented a car for a day & toured the island. If you have the time & money, I'd recommend a 2-day car rental so you're not as rushed. Like Paula, we would recommend El Gaucho (you can catch the bus to downtown) and also Brisas del Mar (you'll need the car for this one). We splurged for stuff like a pedicure (the best I've ever had) and private tennis lessons (very good instructor), all of which is available on-site. They have tons of activities planned (wine tastings, outdoor movies, dance classes, etc.), so you can pick and choose what you want to do & your level of activity. My husband's criteria for a Carribean honeymoon was 1)clean water (we didn't want to worry about you-know-what on our honeymoon) and 2)little-to-no chance of political insurrection on the island. You can drink the water straight out of the hotel faucet & as Aruba still has ties with the Dutch government, we felt quite safe. There's a good bit of shopping in the downtown area (though it's not too commercial) and the people really are nice. Happy honeymooning!
